BetterZip lets you open archives without immediately extracting them. This is much fasterand you dont have to remove the extracted files and folders after using them. Thecurrently supported archive formats are: ZIP, TAR, GZip, BZip2, ARJ, LZH, ISO, CHM, CAB,CPIO, RAR, 7-Zip, DEB, and RPM. Such archives usually have these file extensions: .zip,.jar, .war, .ear, .sar, .par, .wsr, .rar, .cbz, .cbr, .tar, .tgz, .tbz, .gz, .bz, .bz2,.cpio, .cpgz, .7z, .lha, .lzh, .arj, .iso, .chm, .cab, .deb, .rpm. The list of supportedformats will very likely grow in the near future.
BetterZip can open, extract, and create password protected zip files that are compatiblewith PKZip2 or WinZips AES256 encryption. Whenever BetterZip needs a password for anoperation a panel will drop down and ask for the password.
